Backbone network - Our network

Backbone transmission network

We operate the second largest optical network in the Czech Republic with a length of over 3,500 km. DWDM, CWDM, SDH, Ethernet and MPLS L2 technologies operated in this fiber optic infrastructure enables us to provide a wide portfolio of high quality telecommunications services. DWDM technology enables transfer a capacity of up to 80 x 10 Gbit/s on one fibres pair. There are network access points in more than 500 locations throughout the Czech Republic. In several cities we have multiple access points.

Backbone IP network

To provide Internet services, we operate IP network with a ring topology. The backbone network points are interconnected with capacity of 2 x 10 Gbit/s, and the transfer capacity of access networks reaches 10 Gbit/s. The network is connected to NIX via two independent lines with a capacity of 100 Gbit/s and the connection abroad also has a capacity of 4 x 20 Gbit/s. The IP network enables services with IPv6 protocol.
